“Servitude”
CD#100
Servitude is a condition of a slave, to serve another.
- 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
- 1 Corinthians 7:22 says, “For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.”
- 1 Corinthians 7:23 says, “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.”
Servant #1401 doulos, (doo’-los) a slave lit. Or fig., involuntary or voluntary frequently therefore in a qualified sense of subjection or subservience.
It’s no longer our life, our life was death and destruction but with the price of Jesus Christ we were bought! Our life is hid in Him and by Him we have life so we should follow His example of servitude!
- John 12:23 says, “And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.”
- John 12:24 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
Here we have Jesus Christ’s example set forth as our blueprint for building on the foundation of the Rock! Jesus Christ gave His life freely on the Cross and He bared much fruit! By His death we now have our life, life to serve Him so others can come to Him! Jesus Christ bought us to set us free to serve Him. Jesus Christ came that we might have not just life but abundant life!
- John 12:25 says, “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”
- John 12:26 says, “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
